Iraq Enquiry     24-Nov-09 01:21 PM
Watch this live from now on at: http://www.iraqinquiry.org.uk/ Of course later we will have Tony trying to talk his way out of it, which I am sure he will. This absurd pointless War, into which we were drawn in by the Yanks, besides costing many servicemen, US, UK and others, their lives, is believed to have left around 7 million Iraqis dead, injured, homeless, and financially ruined. It would be great to see the reasons ...

Re: Iraq Enquiry     24-Nov-09 02:47 PM
What is really interesting is when we get to the time Sadam sent to the UN a very detailed technical report of 1200 pages of his current conventional weapons, and some previous, but by then obseleted work on WMD. This was rejected totally at once by the US, UK, and some, but not all, others. In fact this do$%^&ent (rejection of which formed a distinct reason for the War) was totally accurate, up to date, and true. Comments by the Enquiry on these facts would be most welcome later ....

Re: Iraq Enquiry     25-Nov-09 03:21 PM
Well it seems the Enquiry so far points to this - nobody in the US, UK, or indeed anywhere had a clue what weapons Sadam had - but - the Yanks were all ready set up on the border with m$%^& of bombs, planes, soldiers, Rolling Stones CDs, a bit of Pot, and indeed some genuine WMD, and George Bush knew it would be truly great to be a War President, so he said "Lets go - we are the Yanks - we do what we like - its Show Time". Sadam had wound him up too long. His Brit poodle Tony just tagged along. And that was it .....

As a paint salesman I am unfortunately able to report that we do not currently have enough whitewash available the the needs on the inquiry.

Louise,

Whilst we both appear to be interested in this enquiry I'm intrigued as to where you get a figure of 7M dead. Do you have a source other than your bottom ?

No offence intended ;)

I think he meant a grand total of 7 million who have been and I quote:
'dead, injured, homeless, and financially ruined'

so many of those would be just financially damaged.

however there will be quite a few Iraqis who have and are making lot of money due to the opportunities available now.

I never said 7 million Iraqi dead. The total dead is believed to be around 600000 but that includes deaths since the war by the insugency. The 7 million figure is from 2003 to now, is backed up, and comprises those dead, injured, made homeless, or financially ruined, both these two figures being Iraqi Nationals, or non military involved persons in Iraq but who are not Iraqi Nationals. It does not include insurgency members affected.

Coming out today is that this absurd War started with war-hungry Americans lead by Bush - there was virtually nil reliable Intelligence - Bush saw it as making him politically popular - the Americans ignored strong warnings of caution by the British - thus the guilt was entirely American. Maybe it would be an idea if the Yanks had a similar Enquiry?

Ahh yes.

"7 million Iraqis dead, injured, homeless, and financially ruined"

"600000 dead"

this would leave 6.4 otherwise effected.

I think I prefer less extrapolation and a bit more more 'evidence'

Setting aside the 'otherwise effected' and concentrating on do$%^&ented civilian deaths it's still a shocking picture:-

The number's don't have to be in the millions for this to be an atrocity - or maybe inside you just feel a bit inadequate ?

Before the war the death rates were equally shocking or even worse.

On the July 27 2003 The New York Times estimated that sanctions had killed 500,000 children.

Throw in a few adults and you could argue that the war saved a lot of lives.

I am afraid a lot of baloney is spread by the US to justify future military action. I know it was about Libya, and I was nearly bombed by the US there. The same is true of Afganistan the link to Al Queda is non existant. And of course the Iraq shambles. It may be the US is well meaning but their Intel is useless. They guess - they deduct on the worse case - they make massive errors. And its real people that die. Every President wants to be a War President ....

Re: Iraq Enquiry a white wash as usual.     26-Nov-09 03:32 PM
Louis about iraq or any of the wars. we went to war because Iraq refused to use us dollars to sell saddams oil and changed to euros instead. Its only the threat of military action by the US on ay country covert and overt that has kept the US and Britian by extension so rich and powerful the wmds were an excuse . we would be at war with iran over the same thing except they have very powerful freinds in russia and china.
the crimes of the bush -binladen-blair goldman sach and jp morgan crime syndicate go very deep and wide.

the fed aka goldman sach and jp morgan chase(gov-co) are responsible for most wars around the world with a few exceptions. the bankers are pure evil and our puppets and media are very good at pulling the wool over our eyes/THE ANSWER IS PISS THEM OF AND BUY GOLD.WHICH IS GOING TO $3000 WITH THE NEXT 18 MONTHS . THEY HATE GOLD BECAUSE IT EXPOSES THEIR FIAT MONEY SYSTEM AS A FRAUD. AND IS BY DEFINITION UNTRACABLE AND UNTAX-ABLE IN YOUR OWN POSSESSION

Far out on a limb,

In my paper this morning - Gold worries mount.

Physical demand for gold dropping rapidly: India demand down 33%

Paper demand for gold leveled off: Hong Kong-listed SPDR Gold Trust the world's largest exchange-traded fund reports demand falling.

No sign of inflation to support gold

Central Bank buying in doubt, only India willing to take IMF gold, rest remains unsold.

At present the Gold price is supported by weakness of the dollar and by mining companies stopping forward sales of gold and hedges, but Barrick Gold now announces that it has unwound 64% of it's hedges. Erm...

If there is a rebound in the dollar, double erm...

Well, I hope you haven't put your house on it.

Iraq Inquiry - Sadam winds up Bush ...     26-Nov-09 04:34 PM
Gold will crash, there are a few on here who saught refuge in Gold, I hope they are aware. In fact in all downturns this happens - massive buying of Gold and a subsequent panic crash. Best to get out of Gold.

Inquiry cannot find guilt - so like all of them is likely to be filed with interest. In fact Sadam wound Bush up dreadfully, this a little like biting a tiger on the tail. Tony and George were almost in love, thus Tony would go along with anything he said. George was never that bright (strangely like many US Presidents) so the table was set up for the ensuing (and continuing) shambles ...
