Re: Energy bills      3-Sep-09 05:51 PM
On a monthly basis my energy bills are higher than my Council Tax bill !!!

Are we really all going to stand by and swallow the excuse of 'we must pay for green energy projects somehow' ???

Will it be an issue for the next election? You bet it will !!

What a pity you are all so small minded. Be prepared to pay for what you consume. If companies do not make profits then our economy will be in an even worse state

The Uk government should put a cap on the amount of profit made. Other European countries energy bills are over 50% than in the Uk

Re: Energy bills     27-Oct-09 08:58 AM
I remember a time when enrgy bills rose slowly. This was when it was owned by us.! The people of the UK were conned with all the sales of the public utilities. The public bought shares at a knock down rate ,but the government knew they would sell them on when they saw they could make a profit.People were bragging "i made a hundred pounds on my shares". what a lot of nonsense! The "big boys" made all the money. Now the idiots who were so eager to buy a few shares and endorse privatetisation are paying the price, over and over ,and over again! Look at electricity, gas, water, refuse collection etc. We are paying astronomical prices for these services and the monies we pay are making a few people wealthy.!And to add insult to injury the service we get is being cut! Wake up people and make your feelings known !

Go to switchwithwhich.co.uk. You'll get all the comparisons and the unit cost of the energy. I did it and as a result switched to NPower. I'm now saving £250 per year - true

I have a thick file of letters to MP and Regulator pleading for unit prices. No other item is sold like this. The Regulator is not on the side of Joe P.
Now they have thought of cancellation charges if you try to switch. No proper contract.
