I'm not in the least bit impressed by the shred's "generous" gesture. Given what's happened to him of late (vandalism, discussions with UKFI over his embattled former employer), he's probably been told it's in HIS BEST INTEREST to give back some of the money.

Bear in mind he's STILL getting the better part of 400k for his, ahem, sterling work.
